Spike Recovery
The spike recovery was evaluated by spiking 3 levels of human Neuropeptide Y into health human serum sample. The un-spiked serum was used as blank in this experiment.
The recovery ranged from 85% to 123% with an overall mean recovery of 103%.

Background: Neuropeptide Y
Neuropeptide Y (NPY) is a 36-amino-acid residue peptide with sequence and 3-D structural homology with PYY and pancreatic polypeptide (PP). NPY serves as a neurotransmitter and is exclusively localized in neurons in the central and peripheral nervous system. NPY is associated with the regulation of heart rate and food intake in several mammalian species.
