Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay) Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty-two times on one plate to assess intra-assay precision. Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays) Three samples of known concentration were tested six times on one plate to assess intra-assay precision.

Spike Recovery

The spike recovery was evaluated by spiking 3 levels of human DR3/TNFRSF25 into health human serum sample. The un-spiked serum was used as blank in this experiment.
The recovery ranged from 101% to 120% with an overall mean recovery of 118%.

Serum/Plasma – Thirty samples from apparently healthy volunteers were evaluated for the presence of human DR3/TNFRSF25 in this assay. No medical histories were available for the donors. n.d. = non-detectable. Samples measured below the sensitivity are considered to be non-detectable.

Background: DR3/TNFRSF 25

Apoptosis, or programmed cell death, occurs during normal cellular differentiation and development of multicellular organisms. Apoptosis is induced by certain cytokines including TNF and Fas ligand of the TNF family through their death domain containing receptors, TNFR1 and Fas. A novel cell death receptor was recently identified by several groups independently and designated DR3, Wsl-1, Apo-3, TRAMP and LARD1-5. The ligand for this novel death receptor has been defined as TWEAK, also termed Apo3L. DR3 is highly expressed in the tissues enriched in lymphocytes including PBL, thymus and spleen. Like TNFR1, DR3 induces apoptosis and NF-kappaB activation.
